This is a simple program enabling you to copy SWREG® sales emails to the clipboard and paste (import) into the program. Individual records can be cut, copied, pasted and deleted within the program and searched for text strings by column. Files are stored as CSV so can be imported into most other list type programs should the need ever arise.

The program comes with the full Delphi 5 source code and can be easily modified to suit your own particular requirements should any extra fields be needed.

Screen shot of OrderDB

Currently the program doesn't store all the information for Question: and Custom Field:, only the text on the same line as the identifier. If you want the whole text for these fields you'll need to modify the source to join the lines up. The source code is reasonably well commented but if you have any queries you just need to contact me.

First upload 24 March 2003 1.0.0.0

25 March 2003 1.0.1.0 uploaded. Fields are now stored in OrderDB.ini in the program folder to enable them to be user defined.

27 March 2003 1.0.2.0 uploaded. Programming error resulted in false duplicate sequence number warning fixed.

27 March 2003 1.0.3.0. Sequence number no longer used when checking for duplicates. The order number is now used and it's no longer dependent on the column index. You can now order the fields any way you like in OrderDB.ini.

06 April 2003 1.0.4.0

  • Import of multiple email orders. Currently only tested using Virtual Access.

  • Field definitions now stored in Path\FileName.ini if Path\FileName.srg exists.
  • Simple text searching of column data implemented.
  • Insert and delete complete columns.
  • Counting of matching strings.

07 April 2003 1.0.6.0 minor update. Help menu item not working.

11 April 2003 1.0.6.2 minor changes to comments in source code and help file.

12 April 2003 1.0.7.0 minor fix for restoring form position and clearing default file to open.

05 May 2003 1.0.8.0 sales graphs based on commission added. Installation gives the option of backing up replaced files.

13 May 2003 1.0.9.0 monthly averages included. A problem when transferring files to machines with different short date formats has been fixed.

15 May 2003 1.0.10.0 some extra protection added for invalid dates. A new options menu now includes "Enable paste column" (moved from "Set") and "Enable date edit". Date field editing was disabled in version 1.0.9.0, somewhat of an oversight as it may be necessary to enter dates manually on occasion.

18 May 2003 1.0.11.0 Bug fix which prevented averaging graphs with 'number of months' < 'MonthAverage*3'. The method of estimating the unaveragable months has been improved. Some improvements to the way the installer backed up old files as well (source code wasn't backed up).

01 July 2003 1.0.13.0 fix applied to handle the * appended to currency fields since the VAT changes.

06 January 2004 1.0.14.0 Added Ctrl+V shortcut to import orders. This works in addition to Ctrl+Alt+I. Changed the row select subsequent to importing orders to select the last order imported.

06 January 2004 1.0.15.0 Fixed the 'jump to last order' which wasn't working when only importing one order.

17 January 2004 1.0.17.0 Fixed a problem with graphs not displaying when system decimal separator used commas.

Download free-orderdb-beta.exe ~1Mb. I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know how you go on with the beta whether or not you have any problems.

I have a much more comprehensive version of the program which I use for myself. If you'd like to give it a try just mail me here, it's still free.
